  • China taps into Africa’s EV market: Chinese EV makers are increasingly investing in Africa, particularly in Egypt. In 2023, China’s EV exports to Africa grew by 291%, a strategic move driven by China’s expanding economic ties with developing countries, not a reaction to Western tariffs. Chinese companies like BAIC Group, Zeekr, and Chery are setting up operations in Egypt and Kenya, aiming to capitalise on Africa's growing EV market. (People’sDailyOnline)
