Here are events adjacent to the e-mobility sector

From the newsletter

The EV sector is still in its infancy, and just like a baby, it needs support to grow. Finance is the big issue entrepreneurs struggle with. But in general, EV players want to learn more from each other and other sectors as well. Most of these lessons are shared at events. We provide a list of 19 non-mobility events worth attending.

  • Our event listing is mainly in the energy sector (11) with three solar-focused, finance (2), mining (2) and technology (1), and others (3) that are scheduled from this week through early April next year.

  • Events from other sectors are like slices of a large sustainability pie, complementing e-mobility events in their contribution to the broader picture. Yesterday, we featured a list of clean mobility events; in case you missed it, click here.

Our take

  • Sectors are interdependent, and so is e-mobility. Entrepreneurs in the sector struggle with raising money, and consumers also find it difficult to purchase EVs. These events provide an avenue for industry players to uncover synergies between different sectors and build relevant partnerships that address such challenges.

  • There are more energy events than in the other sectors, pointing to the urgent need of the sector. African grids are expensive and unreliable, and most rely on fossil fuels. E-mobility players have a significant role in contributing their ideas on the best transition pathways and projected demand from their sector to enable grid planners to address the gaps. This is also an opportunity for them to seek partnerships with energy companies to help build off-grid energy solutions for their EVs.
